Professional Experience

 

NETWORK VIDEO TECHNOLOGIES – Menlo Park, CA – 1997-2015

Video and power transmission company focused on the video surveillance space. Brought on board to grow the company via marketing and branding strategies as well as instill a more clear focus organization-wide.

Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Global (1997-2015)

Oversaw all global marketing, sales and customer service activities out of the HQ location. Hired, trained, mentored, and evaluated team members. Developed marketing strategies and sales tools, managed budget of $12 million, and worked with the company president on product and budgeting matters. Created all advertising strategies that included ad creation, digital marketing development, e-blasts, and social media initiatives. Worked with VP of Sales on distributor program. Set up trade show logistics and collateral.

Managing Director, NVT, England (2000-2015)

Assigned to open office in the U.K. in 2000, with full responsibility for the entire operation. Hired sales staff members for Asia and Latin America as well as sales team members in Europe in 2004 (expanded in to support Eastern Europe/Russia). Managed team of 10 and $5 million annual budget. Interacted with GM in the UK on various strategic initiatives.

       

HIGHLIGHTS:

§  Played instrumental role in increasing sales from $600,000 to $25 million+ per year (self funded). Globalized the company’s revenues by region and product application. Met with distributors in various global markets to understand regional needs; built the regional infrastructure in Asia and Latin America.

§  Transitioned company from A/V video conferencing to surveillance video transmission. Interacted with engineering to evolve transmission technology into a networkable system, leading to dramatic increase in sales year over year.

§  Drove change in industry’s method of transmitting surveillance video by presenting different type of cable and protocol that allowed for migration to IP video.

§  Influenced company president to adapt product range to be more network system compatible, leading to a 4x increase in sales via adaptability to gaming , healthcare, town centers, and others.

§  Led team in successful migration to IP product, including revenue blending and sales processes. Smoothed transition between products by creating marketing pieces and support information. Contributed to negotiations and transitional due diligence/integration.

§  Spearheaded efforts in NVT becoming a household name in the industry. Maintained effective press relationships that enabled placement of articles, case studies, and press releases within print and digital marketing vehicles.

§  Assembled, developed and led team to achieve top performance. Recruited and hired top talent, instituted ongoing training and development, and conducted performance reviews that emphasized strengths and constructive criticism regarding issues.

 

 

Prior position:  MW Media LLC (publisher of engineering resources for Motorola, Intel, Philips, Hitachi and Sun Microsystems). Co-Owner, General Manager and CFO. Grew business into a successful enterprise in 6 years, and managed acquisition to UBM the multinational media company.

UBM: Its principal operations are live media and business-to-business communications, marketing services and data provision, and it principally serves the technology, healthcare, trade and transport, ingredients and fashion industries.
